We begin a new series, “Treasures of the Heart” based on Matthew 12:35, which says a good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart. What do you treasure in life? Is it somebody? Is it something? Jesus said that what you treasure indicates where your heart is and what is important to you. This sermon series will help you set your heart on four kingdom values, love for God, service to others, generosity, and healthy relationships.
Today, we open this series with “The Treasure of Generosity”. In a "winner takes all" world, Jesus brought a new paradigm - givers are winners. Today will be reminded of the destructiveness of greed, the importance of being generous in our relationships, and how making Jesus your treasure will defeat the spirit of greed.

Dr. Christopher Yuan has taught the Bible at Moody Bible Institute for over ten years and his speaking ministry on faith and sexuality has reached five continents. He speaks at conferences, on college campuses, and in churches. Christopher graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 2005, Wheaton College Graduate School in 2007 with a Master of Arts in Biblical Exegesis, and received his doctorate of ministry in 2014 from Bethel Seminary. His parents, Dr. Leon and Angela Yuan, have experienced much heartache due to a prodigal son. But, God has given them the grace to rely on His power to change the unchangeable and focus on their own daily renewal and transformation. Dr. Yuan’s newest book is “Holy Sexuality and the Gospel: Sex, Desire, and Relationships Shaped by God’s Grand Story.”

Jesus came to restore the kind of worship that ushers in the life-changing work of the Holy Spirit. Today's message is the second in the ADVENTures in the Spirit Series, The Holy Spirit Gives Us Courage and Confidence.
The Christmas story's main character is Jesus, but it involved a whole cast of characters saying YES to the Holy Spirit to bring about his birth. You see this in stories involving Elizabeth and Zechariah, Mary and Joseph, and Simeon. Each story teaches us how to welcome His work in our daily lives; leading us, directing our steps, and sharing the Good News. Our hope this Christmas is that you will experience the Spirit's presence and power in profound ways, knowing "nothing is impossible with God."
